DESCRIPTION:Live Online Mindful Self-Compassion for Therapists\nFacilitated by: Dr. Shari Geller & Camilla Graziani \nOctober 7 – December 16\, 2026 \nWednesdays from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM (ET) | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (PT) \nLocation: Live Online via Zoom \nHosted by: Center for Mindful Self-Compassion \nWhat to Expect \nThis is the same 10-week LOMSC program course covering 95% of the typical MSC content. This course includes weekly sessions of 2 hours each\, in addition to the 3-hour retreat. \nWhat’s different? You’ll join a cohort made up entirely of mental health professionals. The shared professional understanding enhances dialogue\, reflection\, and application in ways that enrich both personal well-being and clinical practice. \nThis workshop is suitable for everyone\, including the general public\, mental health and healthcare professionals\, meditation and mindfulness instructors\, yoga teachers\, wellness coaches\, and educators at all levels. Prerequisites Needed: None\, all are welcome to attend. \nIf you’re finding this course less than 3 weeks before the start date\, join CMSC for an introductory information session about Live Online Mindful Self-Compassion (LOMSC) introducing you to the concepts covered in the class\, the online format\, and Q & A. CMSC offers you $100 off the registration fee when you attend the Introductory Session. \nIf you’re interested\, you can sign up here! \nLOMSC Learning Objectives \n\n\nDescribe the theory and research supporting mindful self-compassion\nApply self-compassion practices to utilize encouragement rather than self-criticism\nAssess and manage difficult situations and emotions with greater moment-to-moment acceptance\nApply self-compassion practices to respond to feelings of failure or inadequacy with self-kindness\nAcquire and apply self-validation skills to interpersonal relationships\nUtilize the art of savoring and self-appreciation to overcome negative attention bias\nApply core mindfulness and self-compassion practices into daily life\n\n\n\n\nMeet Your Teacher \n\n\nShari Geller\, Ph.D.\,  is a Certified Teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion; highly experienced in teaching both online and in-person. \nDr. Shari Geller is also an Author and Clinical psychologist. She is a leading figure in the field of therapeutic presence. With over 30 years of experience weaving psychology and mindfulness\, she has several publications including “Therapeutic Presence: A Mindful Approach to Effective Therapeutic Relationships” (2nd Edition\, 2022) with Leslie Greenberg and “A Practical Guide to Cultivating Therapeutic Presence” (2017). Shari is co-editor of the “Self-Compassion in Psychotherapy: A Clinical Handbook” and founded the Therapeutic Rhythm and Mindfulness Program (TRM™). She teaches at York University and is the co-director of the Centre for MindBody Health in Toronto. Shari is actively involved in various professional committees and offers training internationally. \nJoining Dr. Geller will be assistant MSC teacher Camilla Graziani (she/her). Camillia is a Registered Psychotherapist and is a trained teacher of MSC. She is also a Practicing Self-Compassion Therapist (Level A: Core Training – SCIP Learning Cohort (SCIP-LC). \nAs an Emotion-Focused (EFT) therapist working with individuals and couples/intimate partners\, Camilla draws from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)\, Mindfulness and Self-Compassion Based approaches\, trauma-informed\, and neurodiversity- affirming frameworks\, and from a sex positive\, pleasure and connection-focused model for sexual concerns and well-being. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:DBT Skills Group (Wednesday Cohort)
DESCRIPTION:Our DBT Skills Group (Wednesday Cohort) runs weekly on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (ET). \nA Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills Group is a structured group that teaches concrete skills you can use in everyday situation and interactions with others. These groups are especially helpful for people who experience intense emotions\, difficulty managing stress\, relationship challenges\, impulsive behaviours\, or patterns of feeling overwhelmed or stuck. \nAt the Centre for MindBody Health\, our DBT Skills Groups provide a supportive\, interactive\, and clinically-guided space to learn and practice DBT skills alongside others. \nThis group is held online and is co-led by a Psychologist along with either a Social Worker or Registered Psychotherapist. \nThe group is limited to 12 participants in order to maintain a supportive\, engaging\, and interactive learning environment. Occasionally there are waitlists. \nProgram Structure \nThe full DBT Skills Group program runs for 24 weeks and is divided into three 8-week modules: \n\nEmotion Regulation: skills to better understand\, name\, and manage emotions; reduce emotional vulnerability; and respond more effectively when emotions feel intense.\nDistress Tolerance: skills to cope with crisis situations\, tolerate difficult moments\, and reduce behaviours that may make things worse in the long term.\nInterpersonal Effectiveness: skills to communicate more clearly\, set boundaries\, ask for what you need\, and maintain relationships while respecting yourself and others.\nMindfulness is woven throughout each module and is practiced regularly as a foundation for all DBT skills.\n\nWhat to Expect in Each Group Session \nEach two-hour group follows a consistent structure; you will know what to expect each week: \n\n30 minutes: Mindfulness practice\n30 minutes: Review and discussion of how DBT skills were used in daily life\n60 minutes: Learning and practicing a new DBT skill\n\nGroups are educational and skills-focused. You are encouraged to reflect\, practice\, and apply the skills between sessions in real-life situations. \nWho Can Join? \nTo participate in a DBT Skills Group\, you must be working with an individual therapist. This therapist does not need to be from the Centre for MindBody Health.
