DESCRIPTION:DBT Graduate Skills Group\nOnline Group \nWednesdays\, 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM \nStarting January 14\, 2026 | 13 Weeks \nRolling Admission \nREGISTER HERE \n  \nWho Could Benefit? \nIndividuals (18+) who are located in Ontario and have completed at least one full round of a DBT Skills Group (minimum 6 months) and wish to continue strengthening their skills in managing distress and the challenges of daily living. This group offers ongoing consultation and skills refreshers with a special focus on building mastery and increasing compassion towards themselves and others. Clients will be encouraged to bring agenda items\, collaboratively prioritize and set the agenda\, and consult with one another with support and guidance from group leaders. The group is designed to help clients work towards their life-worth-living goals in areas such as education\, work\, relationships\, spirituality\, health\, sexuality\, and sobriety. \nThe Group Has Three Main Objectives: \n\nTo build a life worth living. Participants will come up with a long-term goal\, participate in weekly check-ins to increase accountability and receive support in overcoming barriers.\nTo consolidate core DBT skill use. Each participant will provide a brief presentation\, followed by collaborative validation and/or problem solving areas in which they are stuck or avoiding.\nTo introduce advanced DBT skills. These skills are meant to help participants live a meaningful life\, feel fulfilled and trust themselves.\n\nClass Schedule \nThe DBT Graduate Group runs weekly on Wednesdays from 4:30pm – 6:30pm via a secure virtual platform. \nGroup Facilitators: \nJane Cunningham\, MSW\, RSW & Dr. Adam Iskric\, Ph.D.\, C.Psych. (Supervised Practice) \nFee Schedule \nGroup sessions are $140/2-hour session and are to be paid for by credit card for the duration of the group. \nClients will be charged if they are a no-show to a group. We will review how to feel more confident assessing and intervening with desire issues\, and the skills therapists need for common sexual complaints and long term erotic recovery. \nWe will begin with an overview of key clinical concepts related to sexual desire\, eroticism\, and intimacy\, and then move into practical skills to help clients address concerns around connection and pleasure. The focus will be on helping both individuals and couples improve their intimate relationships in ways that are collaborative\, respectful\, and clinically grounded. The workshop will review skills to help clinicians feel more comfortable and skilled to have these conversations with our clients. \nTalking about sex can evoke strong emotions for therapists and clients and this workshop will address therapist countertransference and projection\, as well as the frustration and repetitive patterns individuals and couples may bring into the therapy room. We will review the basics of an integrative sex therapy model and explore how trauma\, abuse\, and affair recovery can shape desire\, erotic expression\, and the course of treatment. \nDrawing on clinical practice\, research\, and case examples\, we will highlight practical interventions and techniques that foster effective\, ethical therapeutic relationships with clients struggling with desire and intimacy issues. Psychological flexibility refers to an individual’s ability to stay present\, open\, and engaged in meaningful life actions\, even in the face of difficult emotions or thoughts. Research consistently links psychological flexibility to better mental health and life satisfaction\, making it a critical skill for therapists to foster in their clients. This course aims to provide practical tools for clinicians to help clients increase their psychological flexibility\, enabling them to face life’s challenges with resilience and adaptability. \nLearning Objectives \nAt the end of this Workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand the concept of psychological flexibility and its relevance to mental health.\nUnderstand the role of experiential avoidance in mental health struggles.\nLearn how to use ACT-based interventions to increase clients’ acceptance\, cognitive defusion\, perspective taking\, values\, being present and committed action processes.\nInfuse compassion into ACT practice.\nExplore techniques to support their own psychological flexibility as clinicians\, which enhances their capacity for empathy\, resilience\, and effective therapy.\n\nPresenter \nDiana Hill\, PhD\, is a highly regarded clinical psychologist\, podcast host and author of I Know I Should Exercise But…\,The Self-Compassion Daily Journal\, The ACT Daily Journal\, and the upcoming book Wise Effort. She currently provides therapy\, supervision\, corporate coaching and online training in ACT. Host of popular podcast\, Wise Effort\, Dr. Hill has interviewed over a hundred experts in evidence-based and integrative approaches to living well. She has a knack for unpacking complex\, science-based concepts and making them applicable to clinical practice and daily life.  \nDr. Hill completed her undergraduate work at UC Santa Barbara\, majoring in biopsychology\, followed by a PhD in clinical psychology at CU Boulder where she collaborated with Stanford University to research mindfulness and acceptance-based approaches for eating disorders. Dr. Hill completed her pre-doctoral internship in the eating disorder emphasis area at UC Davis and her post-doctoral fellowship at La Luna Center Intensive Outpatient Program for eating disorders. Dr. Hill went on to serve as the clinical director of La Luna Center\, where she helped develop an ACT-based group program. Through all her teachings\, She encourages clients to build psychological flexibility so that they can live more fulfilling lives. Integrating her over 20 years of meditation experience with yoga and psychological training\, Diana guest teaches at InsightLA\, Blue Spirit Costa Rica\, PESI\, Praxis Continuing Education\, Yoga Soup and Insight Timer Meditation.
